Letter from the President: (12/14/2008)

Another year is in the books for the Alpha Gamma Alumni Corporation and we are looking forward to the upcoming year as the year to establish the Alumni Corp's identity.  This past year saw little activity as far as event planning, but the Alumni Board wasn't sitting idle.  Instead, we used this year to create much more financial stability to have an actual operating income and budget.  Through working with the active chapter and all of the generous donors, we have established core funds as well as creating continuous income to be able to make 2009 a most memorable year. 

           One of the most exciting pieces of news in quite some time came at the last Alumni Corp. Board Meeting during which the Alumni Corporation and the owners of the house have reached a tentative 10 year plan in which the Alumni Corporation will own the house without having to go through any mortgage or loan structure.  More details will follow as paperwork and all of the details are worked out between both parties.  This was a huge step for the Alumni Corp. as we can now focus most of our efforts on planning events for next year.

           On that note, the Alumni Corporation in conjunction with the active chapter will be planning Red Rose Formal, a golf outing, and many other events such as Titan Basketball Tailgating.  We feel this is the year for the Alumni Corporation to really show what we can do for not only the alumni base but also the active chapter.  I would also like to introduce Dave Hoppe and Alex Gallegos as new members of the Board of Directors.  They both serve as alumni advisors to the chapter and will share the position of active/alumni liaison.  The Board will be working hard to establish our objectives so that everyone that is a part of Alpha Gamma will benefit from this organization.

           This upcoming year will bring many challenges as well as many events that will begin to shape our organization.  This is the year that the Alpha Gamma Alumni Corporation makes a name for itself and shows everyone involved with this chapter that KDR life does exist after college.  Please support these events in any way you can as the only way to make all of this work is with interest from our alumni.  With your help we can make this organization reach its full potential!
